Crazy Eventful Day..=]

So, today started off with me waking up at 8 and taking a shower. Then off to SF my family and I go. We went to SF to get a shoe cabinet from my parents friend because she was moving. Ya, it sounds boring but! I basically went back to the apt I use to live in as a kid! So many memories.  We went into the elevator to go back to our car after going up to my parent’s friend’s apt and we saw this elder lady. It was funny cause she remembers my parents. My dad goes…”Do you remember my daughter?” She replies…”Not this size.” Hah. Cause I moved out before puberty hit so I was shorter. Hah.  Then we drove down to C-town and it was the yearly Chinese New Year festival.  Went to grab foodios at ABC and walked a little around the festival. The “Fa Gai”.  SO many memories. I remember when I was little, I LOVED going to it cause there were so many things to look at.  I also remember getting those illegal turtles. Hah.

So, after all that, we went back to the apt to grab the cabinet but before that we picked up the maintenance guy that worked there cause we were borrowing his car. I actually remember him cause he’s friends with my parents.  With all this happening, it made me realize HOW many people my parents were friends with in the apt complex and how many people saw me grow up into my err…”teen”? years. (moved when i was 12 or 13). Basically…all the kids that grew up in that apt, had moved out. Or….all the kids I was friends with.  So, there were two people that worked in the apartment that ANNA and I grew up with. Uncle Wong and “Yut Wai Siu Jei”….heh. Which means….a girl in chinese. We would call him that cause he would call us that. Hah.  But sadly…he got fired due to the mean owner of the apt..=.

So, continuing my story…basically…we got the cabinet (the car can only fit two pl comfortably) so I went home with my dad to help him move the cabinet. We went back to the apartment and my mom…of course..being the pack rat she is, got MORE stuff from her friend! Lol. After we left, I MADE my parents promised me that we’d get Swenson’s Ice Cream.

So, we stopped by and I got half a gallon of Mango ice cream and that TOTALLY made my day. While leaving Swenson’s and going down the road where my neighbor Leslie, use to take me for a nice big mango ice cream with a waffle cone, it made reminisce.  I remember my friend, Tiffany and I would go over to our lovely neighbor’s house ,Leslie, to hang out or watch Sound of Music and we’d walk over to Swenson’s for ice cream! I’d always get mango with waffle cone…Not sure what Tiff use to get but I remember mine clearly cause my Gramps LOVED Swenson’s ice cream. My mom would always tell me..the FIRST time she got to America, my Gramps took her there for a mango ice cream.  I remember this little container where he would scoop some for us to bring home when I was little. The taste of the mango ice cream is the best in my mind. Maybe cause it’s the taste of my past and it would remind me of all the wonderful people I had in my life when I was younger.  Just thinking of my Gramps made me tear up.

Anyways….continuing. As the sun is setting, my dad and I order pizza for dinner from Dominos. Before that, I get a txt from Ms. Karen that she got me…guess what?…BRIOCHE BREAD FROM MY FAV. BAKERY! I begged her a couple days ago to please bring me back some! I was so happy when I got the txt…heh. So, her and Steven just dropped it off and I’m munching on some Brioche bread. <3

So basically…a wonderful day for foodios! Swenson’s Ice Cream and Brioche Bread from 85 Degree. I’m a happy camper =).
